Today it's raining. It started as slushy snow during the night so there's about an inch of slush on the ground. But that's slowly getting melted/washed away.

I expect that what doesn't melt from the rain will melt when the sun comes out this afternoon. That's the forecast anyway.

I've been working on some php web page programming. I reached the point where I needed to figure out how to use session variables. It was a little bit of a problem to get them working at first, but I think I finally have it.

Breakfast this morning with Cindy, Sarah and Cindy's mom, Nancy. I haven't seen Nancy in a few years and it was good to see her today. She's one of the folks I'm looking forward to seeing more of this summer.

Still working on collecting the past entries. Stay tuned.

I'm collecting up some old entries for this blog. Things from my earlier weblog and other Gone East writings. I'll be posting them here soon. Before I put them here I want to get as many together as possible, so I can add them in chrono order.

I set up my old Performa system with dual monitors. The idea is to use it as a development system.

I don't know what the actual cause is, but when I started working with this system I immediately started getting headaches. Possible causes: 1) These monitors are noticably fuzzier than the LCD on my PowerBook, which I've used exclusively for over a year now, 2) the chair I've put there is pretty low, so the viewing angle is both awkward on my neck, and produces alot of glare, 3) evil radiation beaming out of these monster monitors.

I'll be fixing the chair thing soon. We'll see if it helps.

It sure would be great to replace these big CRTs with a pair of LCD flat-screens. Ah well, a good goal for the future.

Last night, when I was trying to add to this blog, the blogger site crashed my browser.

I went to the blogger front page, then clicked in the the link to my blog, and while opening that page IE crashed.

I know! It's IE what should I expect. But it was a drag. Ans I think it's happened before.

Blizzard Report: I just went out for a quick walk around the neighborhood.

Talking to my landlord (who is clearing the driveway, bless his heart) we estimated that it's been about 20-22 inches since this started yesterday. It's still falling and he says the forecast is for another 9-10 inches today.

It's not as big as the '78 blizzard, but it's big.

I took some pics which I'll post in a bit.
