| My Mom's Guide to Using iPhoto 2
A step-by-step guide to the everyday features of iPhoto. |
If you have a dotMac account from Apple it is very easy to organize your photos into a Web Photo Gallery.
If you don't have a dotMac account you can learn about its features and cost by visiting the Apple website.
It is remarkably easy to publish photos on the web via dotMac.
You may need to wait a moment for iPhoto to connect with the dotMac website.
A window will appear with your photos and some captions...
Your photos will be organized and published on your dotMac website. A window will appear with the URL (web address) where your can view your online gallery. Give this URL to your friends so they can enjoy your photos.
Change the headline & gallery description
The Web Gallery we created above used the name of the photo album for its headline. You can change this by selecting and editing the headline at the top of the window that you see after Step #2. You can also edit the brief description beneath the headline.
Reorder the photos by dragging
Also in that window, your photos appear in the same order as they were in the Album. You can move them around by clicking and dragging them until you are satisfied with the arrangement.
Give the photos attractive frames
Finally, the small images in your gallery have no frame around them. If you like that "look" you can leave it as it is. Or you can give your thumbnails a more decorative look by clicking on the sample picture frames that are beneath the gallery. Try different ones until you find one you like.

Step-by-step
Your original photos are not affected by publishing on the web. After you have created your Web Gallery you will see that all your photos are still safely in the Photo Library and Albums.
