| My Mom's Guide to Using iPhoto 2
A step-by-step guide to the everyday features of iPhoto. |
Another useful way to organize your photos is by using Keywords.
Keywords are sort of like Albums. I find Keywords to be awkward, and I don't use them very much. But they do have the advantage of allowing you to sift though your photos by searching for the Keywords that you have assigned.
To assign an existing Keyword...
To create a new Keyword and assign it to your photo...
Step-by-step
Assigning multiple Keywords to a single photo.
After assigning a Keyword to a pic... with that same photo still selected... click a different keyword and click the Assign tab.
When you open the Keyword window, the keywords for your selected photo will be highlighted in the list. You can assign as many Keywords to each photo as you like.
Search for keywords.
You can find all the photos with a specific keyword by typing that keyword in the Search box at the bottom of the window.
As you type, iPhoto will continually update to show the photos that match those letters. That means that typing "fav" might be enough to show all the photos with the Keyword "Favotite".
You can also type in more than one word and iPhoto will display all the photos that match BOTH words. That means that "fav kid" would show all the photos that are assigned to BOTH the "Favorites" and the "Kids" keywords.
