| My Mom's Guide to Using iPhoto 2
A step-by-step guide to the everyday features of iPhoto. |
As you add photos to your Photo Library it will start to get so crowded that it will get harder and harder to find the photos you want.
iPhoto lets you organize your pictures into mini Photo Libraries called Albums. You can create as many Albums as you want and give them any name that you like.
If you're not seeing the entire Library of photos, click on the words Photo Library near the top left.
Your Album will appear in the Albums list.
The name of the Album will have a bold black frame around it when it's OK to drop your photo.
You'll now see the photos that are in this Album.
Flip back and forth between this Album and the entire Photo Library, and you'll see that the original photos are still in the library.
Step-by-step
A couple of things to know about Albums.
Because the photos in an Album are also still in the main Photo Library, you can delete a photo from an Album without losing it from the Library. But use caution, since any editing you do on a photo in an Album WILL ALSO change the original in the main Library.
Secondly, you can put a photo in more than one Album. For example, if you have an Album for "Birthday Parties" and another for "Grandchildren" you can place that photo of North with cake on his face in both of them. No problem.
